<p>Just so there is no spelling confusion&#8230; these are sYnapses; SINAPSE representing a play on words that refers to the neuroanatomical <em>synapse  </em>(a term first coined by Charles Sherrington in 1897 to connote the connecting between two nerve cells; etymologically derived from the Greek &#8220;syn-&#8221; meaning together and &#8220;haptein&#8221; meaning to fasten or bind) whilst &#8220;sino-&#8221; was first popularly used from 1879 onwards to refer to matters Chinese (Latin &#8220;synae&#8221;) and pays tribute to the fact that Sinapse was first established in 2002 in China&#8217;s Shanghai.</p>
